Back in the late 80s/early 90s, Scared Guy was born when LA artist Katie (Freedman) Davis
drew him for a child to help him overcome his fears. Scared Guy
soon became a smash hit and was licensed on a huge array of merchandise and clothing in the US and Asia. Scared Guy appeared in a People Magazine article (written by Janice Min), on MTV’s Real World, the movie Camp Nowhere,
on Golden Grahams cereal boxes, and in a series of Carl’s Jr. giveaways.
Scared Guy’s job is to be really scared, all the time, so we don’t have to be. He took a 25-year break, but now, as a Scared Guy Covid response, Katie thought about how Scared Guy helped people before and thought,
"I know! I'll sell all that Scared Guy merchandise I've been storing for years
(which is now vintage 90s, unworn deadstock, and mint-condition) and at the end of every year,
donate the profits!”
P.S. Some items are not-quite-mint condition. You know when things are in storage for a million years or since the 90s they can get stained even when they're new? Or they'll get a little bit of a mildew scent that can easily be washed out?
That's the great thing about vintage, amiright?!
No matter what you get, there will be no refunds and no returns because we donate all profits.
was created when Katie Freedman (now Davis) was volunteering for the Starlight Foundation, granting wishes to children who were critically, chronically, or terminally ill.
